In February of this year in Nizhny Novgorod region, Spectransgarant (Rail Garant Group) opened its container depot. The depot was certified by supervisory authorities, in particular the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) for working on the recertification and repair of tank containers and dry cargo high-capacity containers.

The repair base will enable the performance of major repairs, replacement of plates, painting and other works for keeping STG's tank fleet properly maintained. These services will be offered to other owners of tank containers.

Containers can be currently delivered to the depot by road. The company is also working on opening a station, as per paragraphs 8H and 10H, which will allow, in the nearest future, for the delivery of containers by rail. 

The repair base is equipped with all necessary modern equipment – hydraulic pumps and washing equipment, milling, turning, cutting and pressing machines, air compressor and welding equipment, including argon welding equipment, loading and unloading devices and a painting module.

Strong technical support and professional staff will allow the company to carry out repairs and refitting of any complexity of all types of tank containers, with a capacity of 3-3.5 thousand containers per year. This is the first depot for the repair and recertification of tank containers of such a level in Russia.

The next stage will be the creation of a number of our own railcar washing stations (RWS), including the largest in Russia, which will wash petrochemical tank containers and tankers, as well as perform all types of repairs. The required project documentation is currently being approved, and as soon as this is done we will begin construction. Moreover, our task is not just to create capacity for container maintenance, but to also ensure a high professional service level comparable to international service levels. Therefore, we plan to send employees to Europe for training", said STG managing director Maria Surina.

Taking into account its wide experience and extensive knowledge in the field of tank container repairs and recertification, STG has all the prerequisites for becoming a leader in the field of tank container maintenance in Russia.
